We are blessed to have so many wonderful patients and friends!
We'd love to be able to put all of the wonderful letters and notes that we receive up here on our website,
but we just have way too many. Please do not feel bad if your letter is not listed here - it doesn't mean we
appreciate you any less. Check back from time to time as we rotate the letters as often as we can.
Listen to what Gene has to say about our service!
Thank you Gene!
Take a moment to hear what one of our patients has to say about our new technology!

Widex Passion 440!!!!! WOW !! This is absolutely the best thing to happen to me in years. After trying two other sets of hearing devices,
and giving both a very fair chance, I finally gave up. I wanted so badly to hear better, but just didn't see anything on the market worth trying.
So in February 2010, I heard about and attended a presentation by Dr. Cathy Kurth regarding a newer type aid which was really getting rave reviews.
I decided to go listen and maybe try one last time. In one hour, Cathy had won me over!!! There was something about her I really liked and she
had my complete trust. After she was through speaking, I went up and said to her "I believe you can help me." And I set up an appointment for a few days later.
I walked out of that appointment after two hours feeling like my world had changed. I had not realized what I had been missing until she put comfortable, working devices
in my ears. The change was instant and it was measurable. The difference in night and day.
Cathy's goal was to find an aid that worked for ME...she does not sell just one type- but several. She assured me if she could not prove that I was hearing much better,
she would not sell it to me. These hearing devices are totally comfortable. I don't even know they are in my ear. I have tried them in
absolutely every imaginable setting and they work everywhere - loud dining, a private party, a noisy sorority chapter house, a ladies luncheon
with 10 per table (I could never hear everyone's conversation before), a luncheon with 200 people and lots of background noise
going on-didn't bother me. In an auditorium with 2,000 people listening to a speaker.
(If I was not on the first 10 rows before I could never hear the speaker. I was over half way back- and she was clear as a bell.)
I was able to give up my earphones that I wear to hear TV - Cathy programmed into my remote, a TV program button for ease in listening
to television programs. The incredible ZEN program provides soothing and relaxing tones and gives much needed relief to the constant ringing in my ears.
My granddaughters love that I have stopped saying "can you talk just a bit louder for grandma, please?" My entire family is thrilled and they
love seeing how happy I am. My friends say I look so much more relaxed when talking in a group setting - of course I am, I can HEAR everyone.
Thank you Cathy and the makers of Widex Passion 440 for changing my life!!!!

Dear Cathy and Ellie,
We just wanted to let you know how incredibly pleased we are with our recent experience under your care. We came to you for help, and you more than delivered!
As you know, I was receiving care from another company in our "other" home town. I have been wearing hearing aids for the past eight years.
I had originally purchased a pair of CIC's from this company and was quite happy with them. In time however, they became more problematic and I was in line for
an upgrade to the newer technology. I was then fitted with what I was told was the "best" the marketplace had to offer. They were the newest version of BTE's from Resound.
I wore them for the trial period and based on all my experiences with them, I was unsure that they were in fact, the best I could do.
Upon returning to Scottsdale for the season, we decided to see if there might be other options for us here. Thank goodness we did!
We made an appointment for an evaluation and from the first moment, we knew we were in for a completely different experience. Cathy was very accommodating and
answered our many questions. She gave me a hearing test and offered up her best choices for me. On my first visit we left with a trial pair of the Phonak BTE's she suggested.
I knew immediately they were far and way better than the other product. I could hear easily and with no effort. I had several settings I could go to for enhancement of sound.
They were a dream come true!!
All of my follow-up visits were with Dr. Hatefi. She is a wonder! She was always kind, patient and very willing to do whatever she could to make sure I
was happy. She adapted whatever I wanted into the programs and gave me lots of choices for my dome/earmold fitting. I always left the office feeling well cared for.
We never felt anything was too much to ask. My comfort and satisfaction are paramount to them!
The front office was equally in step, and Natalie was always helpful, efficient and anxious to serve. We would not hesitate to recommend AHAC to anyone!
They are consummate professionals and are excellent at delivering the best in hearing assistance!
Sincerely,
Nancy and Steven Litvak
Dear Dr. Kurth,
It is with elation I'd like to share the results of the Widex Passion hearing aids. As you know, in the summer of 2008 I was
involved in a serious auto accident after which I suffered numerous injuries, one of which was an excruciating ringing in my ears.
This affected my sleep, concentration, patience and nearly every aspect of daily living.
After being referred to your office by Dr. Michael J.A. Robb, an Oto-neurologist you performed audiology testing and a consultation.
After reviewing my options, you then fitted me with the Widex Passion which includes the Zen feature. My hearing was noticeably improved
but I wasn't sure about the tinnitus until the third day when, upon waking, tears began rolling down my cheeks. I realized how loud my
tinnitus was without the hearing aids.
Each day I look forward to placing my hearing aids. Even though they are tiny and inconspicuous I wouldn't care if they were noticed
because of the relief I'm experiencing.
Cathy, I want to thank you and Dr. Robb for leading me to the decision to purchase the Widex Passion hearing aids. Your skill and
professionalism have been appreciated. I've gained back a quality of life that is priceless.
Sincerely,
Melanie West
To all at Audiology and Hearing Aid Center,
I have been frustrated hearing in groups, restaurants and conversing with my wife. I would smile and nod at inappropriate times. I couldn't hear,
but I was too embarrassed to ask to have anything repeated. I also found it difficult to hear movies and lectures.
Since being fit with the Phonak Audeo IX's, my wife no longer has to repeat herself or shout at me. I can now hear well at lectures, church and at the movies.
The open-ear fit is so much more comfortable than the completely in the canal aids I previously wore. Now I can go to restaurants with friends and enjoy the conversation.
My wife says my new ears have made a big difference in our ability to communicate. I thank Cathy Kurth and the staff at Audiology and Hearing Aid Center
for enabling me to hear and understand better.
Richard Fry
Dear Cathy,
Thank you for all of your help with my hearing problem. I had given up on hearing aids for years. Audiologists
up to just a couple of years ago or so could not fully appreciate the kind of problem I was having. Even if one did,
I was told that the technology wasn't there yet for me. I was hearing only garbled speech, worse in noisy environments.
This would also occur in places with pretty low levels of background noise. I couldn't hear the beginnings and ends of words, and what
I thought I was hearing didn't make much sense. If I asked people to speak louder, it just made the problem louder.
When I met you, you understood exactly what was going on with me. You selected new technology (the Phonak Audeo), and it was
exactly what I needed. I was hearing almost normally with the first settings. I can now have conversations even in crowded,
noisy areas. In fact, my wife and I hadn't been out to restaurants much for a long time because of my hearing. But we just
celebrated her birthday at a great Scottsdale restaurant as if no one else was there. She tells me she has to get
used to my not saying "Huh?" all the time. No one can see that I'm wearing hearing aids.
And my biggest problem now is that I keep checking that I haven't lost them, because I can't really feel them in my ears.
While the technology is a little expensive, I don't know if I could put a price on having my hearing back.
Thank you again,
Brad, Physician
Dear Ms. Jones:
Thank you for your recent help in securing a partial hearing aid for my left ear.
The hearing aid is now working well, but I wanted to express my thanks for whatever it was you
did during you examination of my ears. I can now hear sounds even without my
hearing aids that I haven't been able to hear for the past few years.
And I no longer have to turn radio and television programs up to top volume. I am sure my wife appreciates that, too.
Sincerely,
Clyde S. Wilcox
Dear Dr. Kurth,
As the owner of a luxury home design firm, I am always very concerned about quality of product and
quality of service. When I made the commitment to have my hearing tested and perhaps
purchase hearing aids, my motivation was to improve the quality of my life and the quality of the lives of my family, my staff and my clients.
Little did I know that my response to your advertisement for a hearing aid seminar would change my life so dramatically.
My relationship with you and your staff has been nothing short of remarkable and indeed you have turned out to be a health care
service provider for me, not just a "hearing aid sales outlet."
The Phonak completely in the ear units that I have had for over two months now are light years above what
I expected my improved hearing to be. My hearing loss was over 50% and the new units have restored my hearing to 75%
(and I think perhaps better than that). I can hear people in the back seat now without having to turn my head to see them,
I don't have to ask my family to constantly repeat things, my staff is amazed that my comprehensions is so much higher,
and I don't misinterpret my clients' comments. I also don't read lips any longer and I am hearing the notes between the
notes of my favorite music that I haven't heard in many, many years. What a joy it is to have these units!
Likewise, I want to thank you for your caring and your patience in answering my questions and addressing all of my
concerns so completely. This was a big step for me and your professional skills shone through. There
was no doubt in my mind that when I made the decision to move forward, I was improving the quality of not only my life,
but all of those around me also.
My only question is to myself..."Why did I wait so long to do this?"
Sincerest thanks again...Barry S.
Howdy Cathy,
I know that you told me to wait 45 days before I made a judgment about the Widex Inteo IN-9
hearing aids, but I think you know me well enough to know that I would not wait that long.
They are just GREAT GREAT!
The clarity is beyond anything I thought was possible for me to achieve.
Dr. Kurth - you have given back to me what I have not had
for fifty years - the understanding of spoken words.
The first day I received the Widex IN-9 was the first day since
closed caption TV was available that I watched
TV with the closed caption off and heard with clarify
and understanding of the words spoken. For this, Dr. Kathy Kurth,
I thank you with all my heart.
Your patient and friend,
Russ N.
Dear Chris,
Just a note to thank you for the care you have given to help replace my hearing.
I can't begin to tell you how much pleasure they bring - not only to me, but to all
I come in contact with. Again - many, many thanks for all you have done. My continued best wishes.
Sincerely,
Barbara B.
My hearing was pretty bad so an appointment with Cathy Kurth was made. As we traveled toward Scottsdale, I decided,
from experience, I probably would put them in a drawer and not wear them and they were too costly for that.
So I called at the last minute and cancelled and I managed with what I had. Then my husband kissed my ear,
affectionately, causing me to hear even less and I knew that I had to take action so that I wouldn't miss any more.
When Cathy fit me and I could hear normally, it was overwhelming at first. but I knew I had done the right thing for myself and those around me.
Sharon Barrow
Dear Cathy,
I've had a hearing problem for the past 14 years, and have tried several
different brands for the last 10. None of them have come close to the natural
sound I get from the Resound. The Resound sounds so natural, and is so comfortable,
that I actually have to touch my ear sometimes because I don't even know I have it in.
I would highly recommend the Resound hearing aid as a worthwhile investment. I depend
on it in my profession in television news, since hearing those I do stories on is imperative.
Sincerely,
David D.

One of our patients, M.Y., has some thoughts to share
about Audiology and Hearing Aid Center! Thank you M.Y.
You better not talk about me behind my back. I can hear you now! I was missing a lot with my old hearing aids, so I went to see Dr. Kurth
and, after one appointment, she found the perfect hearing aids for my problem: behind-the-ear Widex. Advanced technology. Not horribly expensive.
Adjustable to external noise, but I didn't even have to turn them down for holiday parties. What a joy to be a part of everything that it is going on!
A very happy octogenarian,
Dee Horwitz
I am in my early 60's and although my hearing has steadily decreased I was very hesitant to get a "hearing aid." I have had many elderly
family members get a hearing aid, only to put it in the drawer because "things didn't sound right." It had become increasingly
difficult to hear in group settings and I had to turn the T.V. up louder and louder. Many times I would laugh at a joke not even
knowing what I was laughing at. I would only get bits and pieces of the Sunday sermon, and one of my most used words was "huh?"
I recently moved to the Phoenix area and saw many hearing aids advertised, but when I saw that the Audiology & Hearing Aid Center had
audiologists on staff, that was what I wanted. A professional recommendation and follow up was very important to me.
Dr. Kim Gates was very knowledgeable and after she performed the hearing evaluation, it did indicate quite a hearing loss. After
taking a lifestyle survey, a hearing aid was recommended to me.
The day I received my hearing aid was filled with mixed emotions. I was anxious to hear but still was hesitant about having a "hearing aid."
To my delight, it was almost impossible to see the hearing aid and I can now hear in groups, at church and the neighbors don't know what T.V.
program I'm listening to. I intend on going to school next semester, and all my energy will not be put into trying to figure out
what someone is saying. My family is grateful because they don't have to speak loudly to me and repeat everything.
I have a whole new world in front of me and I highly recommend the Audiology & Hearing Aid Center.

Greetings...
I started wearing hearing aids twenty (20) or more years ago after it became apparent that damage I sustained while in combat
in the Marine Corps during the war in Vietnam was making it difficult to continue in my chosen profession as an account manager
for a major industrial company in the United States. It was becoming increasingly difficult to understand (hear) both my customers
and my co-workers and I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with this situation.
I discovered Dr. Kurth as a result of a program that my company had entered into with a major insurance company in this country.
After the initial testing confirmed what I already thought I knew and that Cathy suspected, she started me out with the then current
technology of analog hearing aids. What an improvement for that time. I was able to carry on a real conversation with people instead
of the usual requests to repeat what had just been said. Sometimes the request to repeat or clarify what had just been said was issued
more than one time. As you can imagine, it was a bit frustrating not only for me, but for my contemporaries and customers, not to mention my family as well.
I have worn analog hearing aids for 20 years and about six(6) months ago, I realized that my current hearing aids were not providing me with the
necessary clarity, filtering and volume I needed, especially after watching my wife grow increasingly frustrated in our attempts to communicate
on a day to day basis. I think that at that time I was as frustrated with my additional hearing loss as I was 20 years ago with the discovery of my initial loss.
So once again, back to Dr. Kurth. After some initial tests and consultations with her, I decided to make the switch to digital technology. Wow what difference a
few tests and consultations makes. As Cathy had indicated, the clarity, volume and understanding from being able to hear properly was a big step forward. My only
regret was that I did not make this decision sooner.
I am now able to hear with a clarity that was unexpected just a few years ago. I am able to hear in a large group, understand sermons in church instead of
saying to my wife "what sermon??" and hear on the phone. Moving to digital technology is a big step, but with Cathy's excellent professionalism, guidance and
patience, it was easier than I expected. The follow-up and fine tuning that Cathy provides makes all the concern and anxiety you would normally have seem like minor items.
As I stated earlier, the move to digital technology is a big step, but one well worth the adjustment and the financial commitment required. I am very happy with both
my new hearing aids, the professionalism Cathy provided me and her willingness to work with me as needed to help me take this step into a new world for me.

Dear Phonaks,
I would like to let you know what a difference my new Phonak "Audeo YES" hearing aids have made in my life.
With my old hearing aids, I almost always declined invitations from my friends to go out to eat. The reason was that
I could hear what was being said across the room, but not the conversation being held at the table. Since I have
gotten my new Phonak heaing aids, I have been out to dinner with friends more times than I have over the previous year.
I almost always had problems hearing during meetings, because I was hearing what was happening behind me and not what was being said
in front of me. Now, when I attend a meeting, I can clearly hear the speaker.
Before my new hearing aids, when I was driving my car, I could never listen to the radio because I was hearing all the traffic noises
and the radio would have to be on full blast. Now, I can turn on the radio and have the volume set at 4 or 5 and hear it.
The one thing that is most important to me is that I can hear my grandchildren when they talk to me on the phone. This one thing alone has
made this investment more than worth it.
Thank you for giving me my life back.
Denise G.
Dear Chris:
This is a thank you for giving me back my hearing! It has been my experience that sometimes we voice our
displeasure but fail to praise. Although I have told you in person, I want to say it in writing as well.
I came to your office because a volunteer job I value makes using the telephone a necessity. Over the years
I had heard so many negatives about hearing aids. I was uncertain about their benefits. Also, I felt that
spending so much money on myself at age 86+ was quite an indulgence. Chris, you were low key, patient, reassuring,
a good listener and you answered all of my questions. Now, only three weeks after getting my hearing aids,
I am entirely pleased with them. They exceed my expectations; I put them in first thing in the morning and
do not even notice them anymore. Understanding people on the phone is easy now, and I am enjoying this noisy,
wonderful world. Already I'm able to screen out unimportant sounds, and the pleasure of
hearing the rustle of leaves in the wind and the birds chattering just off my patio is fabulous.
I am most grateful for:
- The science that makes good hearing possible
- The professional skill and expertise of my audiologist
- Most of all, the personal, understanding touch
Thank you, Muriel!
PS: I had decided that I was not going to announce to anyone that I had hearing aids, but I've changed my mind. It's time someone my age has good things to say about this.
Dear Rochelle,
I can't thank you enough for helping an old lady to hear things again. It will take me time to use them correctly. Thank you so much for helping me.
Sincerely,
Betty Van Arsdale
Dear Cathy,
I just wanted to formalize my gratitude to you and your fine staff
for the outstanding service you and your company have provided to me
over the past almost 20 years. I can't tell you what a difference these
new Widex hearing aids have meant to me. My hearing loss is somewhat unique
and with the ability to adjust 15 different frequency bands, these new units
have restored my hearing to what I would call "normal" and that is a real
compliment. I can't thank you enough for your caring and professional service over
the years. I am thrilled for your success and the success of your company. Thanks
again for making my life, and my wife, very happy!
Best regards,
Dennis M.
Greetings -
It isn't often I rave about a product or service. This is one of those times.
Cathy's follow-up service has been outstanding. Whenever there's a tweak to fix,
she does it in a matter of minutes. Thank you, Cathy. Thank you, Senso Plus. I feel 40 years younger.
Ed A.
Dear Dr. Kurth,
When I started wearing hearing aids three years ago, I had no first-hand
information about them. It became difficult for me to insert them into the ear canal,
so I became frustrated, and quit using them. But recently, I decided to try them again.
It was so much easier. I was presented with beautiful color pictures of all the different styles
and sizes of hearing aids, along with practical hints so useful in getting used to them! I'm
getting the guidance I needed. Thanks for your expertise!
Sincerely,
Gerry M.
Thank you, Cathy, for your kindness and patience and knowledge in taking care
of me all these many years - at least 16 years! Thank you to all of you for
getting to know me - and my voice on the phone!
Sincerely,
Lee S.
p.s. I love you all!
I am so pleased with the Senso Diva hearing aids. I truly enjoy the clarity and the lack
of fuss and particularly the phone levels. It is so nice to hear on the telephone again.
It certainly didn't take long to get used to these aids and the results are well worth the effort.
Thanks, Cathy.
Margie L.
My quiet world now has the wonderful sounds I really didn't know I was missing,
thanks to my Diva hearing aids. My thanks to you and my Divas for bringing my world back to normal sounds.
Mary T.
Dear Dr. Kurth,
Six weeks into my use of my new Senso Diva hearing aids, I am delighted
I am able to use them in situations such as parties where my previous
hearing aids were useless. The best proof is that I virtually always wear them.
Very truly yours,
Richard S.
I just wanted to let you know how I do appreciate "being in on" what is going
on around me - and others around me appreciate it as well. Thank you for being
so kind and patient, working me in when it might not have been most convenient,
and listening to my problems to help solve the challenge. I am satisfied, job well done!
With warmest thoughts,
Tom T.
Dear Dr. Wells,
Just a note to let you know how happy I am with my new hearing aids.
You and the staff at Audiology and Hearing aid Center have been friendly,
informative, and never pushy. I am now hearing many things that had faded
away on me over the years. It's like a new world has opened up for me. My only
regret is that I didn't do this 12 years ago. Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Ed M.
Dear Cathy,
All too often in today's world, people are quick to complain when their expectations
are not met. I for one, rarely seem to find the time to thank a company when a job is well done.
I wanted to take the time to thank you for your staff for the professional manner in which my
hearing needs have been handled since purchasing the Senso Widex canal type aids a couple of
years ago. Quite simply, Audiology & Hearing Aid Center is the best at what they do in the
long experience I have had with hearing aid dispensers.
